Data and Several New Features Added to the World Bank eLibrary

Access thousands of World Bank books, journals, flagship reports, working papers and data from the World Development Indicators within the same platform!

Major enhancements have been brought to the World Bank eLibrary – a value-added website containing the full collection of World Bank books, journals, flagship reports, and working papers since the 1990s. 


The eLibrary is a subscription-based service designed to meet the unique needs of libraries, researchers, policy makers and the academic community. It offers a variety of personalization options, enhanced functionality, and optimizations such as chapter level access, contextual data, reference-linking and MARC records.
The most recent enhancements include:

  • Time series for more than 50 of the most popular indicators from the World Development Indicators have been integrated to eLibrary, providing quick and easy access to World Bank publications and data within the same platform.
  • Full text HTML chapters for approximately 160 books published since 2014, offering the ability to enlarge and view all figures and tables within the chapter, and read the text without downloading the PDF
  • Linked references in hundreds of eBook chapters that take you straight to the cited source and chapter references
  • “Altmetric dashboards” to follow a publication’s online activity in social media, blogs and news outlets.
